Overview & Distillery

Unique, briny, and beautifully balanced, An Dúlamán Irish Maritime Gin is Ireland’s first seaweed gin — a true celebration of the Donegal coast. Crafted in small batches by Sliabh Liag Distillers, it captures the wild essence of the Atlantic shoreline with a blend of traditional gin botanicals and five varieties of hand-harvested seaweed.

The result is a maritime gin with remarkable depth and savoury character. Bottled at 43.2% ABV, An Dúlamán is rich with notes of juniper, sea herbs, citrus, and umami salinity — an elegant expression that reflects both Irish craft and coastal terroir.

Sliabh Liag Distillers, founded by James and Moira Doherty in Donegal, is the first legal distillery in the county for over 175 years. Inspired by the rugged landscape, Gaelic heritage, and Atlantic coastline, the distillery’s mission is to revive the region’s lost distilling traditions while embracing modern craft.

An Dúlamán takes its name from an old Irish folk song and the Irish word for seaweed (“Dúlamán”). Every batch is distilled in a custom copper pot still named Méabh, using hand-harvested seaweed from Donegal’s wild shores.

Each bottle reflects the distillery’s coastal spirit — proudly Irish, deeply rooted in place, and brimming with maritime character.
