Barbadillo Cream Sherry
Barbadillo Cream is a rich, sweet and velvety Sherry crafted from oxidatively aged 100% Palomino Fino and sweetened to achieve smooth, raisined depth. Bottled at ~17–18% ABV, it delivers caramel, dried fruit, walnut and warm spice with a long, silky finish.
Produced by Barbadillo, one of Sanlúcar’s most historic bodegas since 1821, this is a classic, indulgent Cream Sherry — perfect with desserts and cheese, or simply enjoyed chilled as a comforting after-dinner drink.
Barbadillo Cream is a smooth, sweet and comforting style of Sherry that combines the nutty depth of oxidatively aged wines with luscious raisined sweetness. Starting as dry Oloroso-style Palomino, it is blended with sweet wine (often Pedro Ximénez) or grape must to create a velvety, indulgent profile.
Richer than Pale Cream but fresher and more elegant than old-fashioned dark creams, Barbadillo’s version balances raisin, caramel, dried fruit and roasted nut flavours with gentle salinity from coastal maturation — a classic dessert and after-dinner Sherry.
Bodegas Barbadillo, founded in 1821, remains one of the most important houses in Sanlúcar de Barrameda. Their cathedral-like cellars, exposed to Atlantic breezes, create ideal conditions for slow oxidative ageing, giving smoothness and finesse to their cream styles.
Barbadillo’s approach preserves authentic Oloroso depth while avoiding cloying sweetness — making this an accessible, refined option for both traditional Sherry drinkers and newcomers looking for rich but balanced sweetness.
