Overview & Distillery

Barbadillo Manzanilla is a fresh, bone-dry and saline Sherry aged by the Atlantic in Sanlúcar de Barrameda, the only place allowed to label Sherry as Manzanilla. The cool, humid coastal climate produces a thicker, more vigorous layer of flor, giving Manzanilla its uniquely delicate, briny and refreshing character.

Light, crisp and aromatic, with almond, chamomile, sea spray and mineral notes, Barbadillo’s Manzanilla is one of the most recognised and widely enjoyed examples — perfect as an aperitif or with tapas and seafood.

Bodegas Barbadillo, founded in 1821, is one of Sanlúcar’s most historic producers and a true benchmark for the Manzanilla style. Their cellars sit close to the sea, where ocean breezes influence the flor and give a distinct saline edge.

Barbadillo is credited with popularising Manzanilla worldwide and preserving traditional ageing in cathedral-like bodegas that create ideal conditions for biological maturation.
