Château d’Agassac 2021
A refined and classically styled Haut-Médoc offering blackcurrant, blackberry, cedar, graphite, and subtle floral notes. Fresh, balanced, and elegantly structured, the 2021 vintage showcases a more traditional Bordeaux profile, emphasising precision, terroir expression, and drinkability over sheer power.
Château d’Agassac 2021 is the flagship wine of one of the Haut-Médoc’s most historic estates. Located in Ludon-Médoc, just south of the heart of the Médoc peninsula, the château traces its origins back centuries and today holds the distinction of being recognised as a Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel. The estate has long been regarded as one of the leading names in the Haut-Médoc, consistently delivering wines that overperform their classification.
Compared with richer vintages such as 2018, 2019, or 2020, Château d’Agassac 2021 offers a more restrained and traditional expression of Bordeaux. Rather than relying on concentration alone, it succeeds through freshness, elegance, and classic Left Bank character.
An excellent choice for those who appreciate traditional Bordeaux styling and want a wine that can be enjoyed relatively early while still offering medium-term cellaring potential.
A dry, medium-bodied Bordeaux with fresh black fruit, vibrant acidity, and refined tannic structure. The cooler growing season gives the wine a more classical profile, emphasising balance, aromatic precision, and freshness rather than richness and weight.
Unlike some modern Bordeaux wines that prioritise extraction and concentration, the focus here is on elegance and terroir expression. The fruit remains bright and energetic, supported by subtle oak and classic Médoc structure.
