The 2022 vintage showcases an intensely aromatic bouquet of dried cherries, blackberries, figs, and plum, layered with warm notes of sweet spices, cocoa, and a touch of tobacco. On the palate, it is full-bodied and velvety, with rich, ripe fruit, polished tannins, and a lingering finish marked by dark chocolate and spice.
Powerful yet balanced, this Amarone is perfect for slow sipping or pairing with hearty dishes. It's a wine of structure, complexity, and finesse, and a shining example of the Farina family's modern approach to a timeless classic.
Farina Amarone della Valpolicella originates from Valpolicella in Veneto, northern Italy - the historic heartland of Amarone production. The region’s rolling hills north of Verona provide ideal exposure and ventilation, while limestone-rich soils contribute structure and finesse. Amarone is one of Italy’s most prestigious and distinctive red wine styles, produced using the traditional appassimento method.
This wine is crafted primarily from Corvina and Corvinone, with Rondinella completing the blend - the classic trio of Valpolicella. After harvest, the grapes are carefully dried for several months, concentrating sugars, flavours, and extract before fermentation. This traditional drying process gives Amarone its hallmark depth, richness, and elevated alcohol, while preserving balance and aromatic complexity.
Produced by Farina, a respected family estate in Valpolicella with roots dating back to the early 20th century, this Amarone reflects both tradition and modern precision. Extended maturation refines the wine’s power, integrating tannins and enhancing its layered character. The result is a wine of intensity and structure, yet with remarkable smoothness.
