D.O.M. Bénédictine
D.O.M. Bénédictine is a legendary French liqueur crafted from a secret blend of 27 herbs, spices and botanicals, aged in oak and bottled at 40% ABV.
Rich with honey, citrus, warm spice and elegant herbal depth, it is refined enough to sip neat and versatile enough for timeless cocktails like the B&B and Vieux Carré.
Made in the historic Palais Bénédictine in Normandy, this iconic liqueur brings centuries of herbal tradition and luxurious flavour - smooth, aromatic and unmistakably French.
D.O.M. Bénédictine is one of the world’s great classic liqueurs — rich, honeyed, warming and deeply aromatic. Created in the 19th century using a secret monk-inspired recipe of 27 botanicals, it combines sweetness, herbal spice and soft citrus in a silky, elegant style.
Full-bodied and complex without heavy bitterness, Bénédictine works beautifully sipped neat, over ice, or in classic cocktails like the Vieux Carré, B&B, and Benedictine Sour. Its smooth, spiced character also pairs naturally with coffee, desserts and fine spirits.
Although often associated with medieval monks, Bénédictine was created in 1863 by Alexandre Le Grand, who drew inspiration from old monastic herbal manuscripts and apothecary traditions in Normandy. The original distillery was built in Fécamp, a grand coastal town whose imposing palace-like structure still produces the liqueur today.
The name D.O.M. stands for Deo Optimo Maximo (“For God, most good, most great”), a tribute to monastic heritage. The recipe remains secret, known only by a small group within the distillery, and includes botanicals sourced across the globe. After maceration and distillation, the spirit is aged in oak to develop mellow sweetness and spice.
