Dow’s Fine Ruby Port
Dow’s Fine Ruby is a vibrant, fruit-forward Port blended from premium Douro grapes and lightly aged in large vats to preserve rich colour and fresh berry flavour.
Bottled at around 20% ABV, it delivers juicy blackberry, plum and cherry with gentle spice and a smooth, warming finish.
Made by Symington Family Estates, one of the Douro’s most respected Port producers, Dow’s Fine Ruby is perfect for relaxed sipping, pairing with chocolate and cheese, or mixing into refreshing Port cocktails.
Bright, approachable and full of character - an excellent everyday ruby Port from a historic name.
Dow’s Fine Ruby is a classic, youthful and fruit-driven Port made in the signature drier Dow’s house style. Designed to capture the bold, fresh character of young Douro fruit, Fine Ruby offers vibrant flavours of blackberry, plum and cherry with subtle spice and a smooth, approachable finish.
Where aged tawnies develop nutty, oxidative richness, ruby Port remains lively and full of primary fruit. Dow’s Fine Ruby is blended from several vintages and lightly aged to round out the tannins while retaining depth and colour. It’s excellent as an everyday Port for sipping, pairing, or mixing into long drinks and cocktails.
Dow’s is one of Portugal’s most historic Port houses, established in 1798 and now part of Symington Family Estates, a family with over 130 years of Douro winemaking heritage. Known for structure and elegance, the Dow’s style is slightly drier and more refined than many ruby Ports, with fruit sourced from premium vineyards including Quinta do Bomfim and Senhora da Ribeira.
Fine Ruby represents the entry point to the Dow’s family, delivering quality and character from one of the region’s most respected producers.
