Description

Fèlsina Berardenga Chianti Classico 2021 hails from the heart of Chianti Classico, one of Tuscany’s most iconic and historic wine regions. Characterised by rolling hills, mixed galestro and limestone soils, and a temperate Mediterranean climate, the region is ideally suited to growing Sangiovese, the grape at the heart of Chianti Classico’s identity.

Produced by Fèlsina, an esteemed estate with a long-standing reputation for quality and terroir-driven wines, this Chianti Classico reflects both tradition and thoughtful modern winemaking. Fèlsina combines careful vineyard selection with attentive oak management to create wines that display varietal purity, structural balance, and detailed complexity.

This wine is built predominantly from Sangiovese, the classic backbone of Chianti Classico, often complemented by small percentages of local varieties to enhance texture and aromatic nuance. The 2021 vintage delivered fresh, expressive fruit with excellent acidity - ideal for producing wines with both early charm and aging potential.

Fèlsina is known for its dedication to pure Sangiovese expressions, unlike some Chianti Classico wines that blend in small amounts of other grapes. Their Berardenga Chianti Classico reflects the true essence of the varietal, highlighting its bright acidity, fine tannins, and signature Tuscan minerality.

Style

This Tuscan red shows a bright ruby colour with compelling aromas of red cherry, plum and subtle herbal notes. On the palate it's medium-bodied and refreshingly lively, with juicy red fruit flavours balanced by firm acidity and fine-grained tannins that give structure without heaviness. The finish is clean and lingering, with echoes of cherry and a hint of earthiness that reflects its Chianti Classico origins. This is a wine that drinks beautifully in its youth while showing the character and restraint of a serious producer.
