Henri Champliau Brut Rose NV
A bright, salmon-hued Crémant Rosé with red berries, floral lift, and fine persistent mousse. Fresh, graceful, and extremely versatile.
The Henri Champliau Brut Rosé NV is a refined sparkling wine that captures the vibrancy of Burgundy’s terroir through the artistry of traditional méthode champenoise winemaking. Produced in Mercurey, in the heart of the Côte Chalonnaise, Henri Champliau is a family-owned estate dedicated exclusively to sparkling wines, crafting Crémant de Bourgogne with precision and passion. The Brut Rosé reflects this dedication, offering a wine that is both elegant and expressive.
This cuvée is built on a foundation of Pinot Noir, which lends structure and depth, balanced by the finesse of Chardonnay and the juicy fruit character of Gamay. To achieve its delicate salmon-pink hue and enhance its red fruit expression, a small proportion of still red wine is blended into the final cuvée. After secondary fermentation in bottle, the wine rests on the lees for more than a year, developing its fine bubbles, creamy texture, and subtle complexity.
Versatile and celebratory, the Brut Rosé NV shines as a stylish apéritif but also pairs beautifully with food – from grilled prawns, sushi, and salmon tartare to duck breast, roasted vegetables, soft cheeses, and berry-based desserts. Its lively fruit and balanced structure make it a sparkling wine for every occasion, from intimate moments to festive gatherings.
Henri Champliau Brut Rosé NV shows just how stylish Crémant de Bourgogne rosé can be when Pinot Noir leads the blend. With Pinot Noir providing both colour and shape, supported by Chardonnay and a touch of Gamay, the wine balances red-fruit perfume with proper sparkling structure rather than simply relying on charm.
The traditional-method approach and extended lees ageing give it enough creamy depth to feel serious, while the rosé fruit profile keeps it bright and immediately attractive. That makes it useful both as an aperitif wine and as a food partner, which is often where well-made rosé fizz shows its real value.
This is a very attractive alternative to rosé Champagne fro those who want elegance, visual appeal, and real quality at a more accessible level.
A dry sparkling rosé with fine mousse, bright acidity, and a fresh, red-berried profile. It is delicate rather than broad, but has enough palate shape to feel complete.
