A shining example of classic Chablis, J. Moreau & Fils “Gloire de Chablis” 2024 delivers vibrant fruit, flinty minerality, and elegance in every glass. Crafted from 100% Chardonnay grown on the fossil-rich Kimmeridgian limestone soils of northern Burgundy, this wine is all about purity and precision.

Founded in 1814, J. Moreau & Fils is one of Chablis’ oldest and most respected houses. The estate combines two centuries of winemaking tradition with a modern, terroir-focused approach to highlight the unique character of each vintage. For this cuvée, the 2023 harvest offered excellent balance - with warm days and cool nights preserving bright acidity and expressive aromatics.

The wine is fermented in stainless steel and aged on fine lees for up to 8 months, with no new oak used. This method allows the Chardonnay’s natural minerality and freshness to shine while developing subtle texture and complexity.

It offers a clean, citrus-forward profile with a saline edge - perfect for lovers of classic white Burgundy or seafood-focused cuisine. Elegant, expressive, and ready to enjoy.

Description

J. Moreau & Fils Chablis comes from Chablis in northern Burgundy, where cool climate conditions and Kimmeridgian limestone soils create some of the world’s most distinctive Chardonnay wines. These fossil-rich soils are central to Chablis’ identity, giving the wines their hallmark mineral, flinty character.

Made entirely from Chardonnay, the grapes are sourced from vineyards across the Chablis appellation, benefiting from slow ripening that preserves acidity while allowing subtle fruit development. The 2024 vintage provided good balance between ripeness and freshness, resulting in a wine with clarity and precision.

J. Moreau & Fils is one of the historic names of Chablis, with roots dating back to 1814. The house style focuses on clean, expressive wines that highlight terroir rather than oak influence, using stainless steel vinification to preserve purity and structure.

The wine feels clean and focused on the palate, with bright acidity giving it energy and lift. Compared to richer Chardonnay styles, it is more about sharp definition and subtle texture than creaminess or weight.
