Kopke Late Bottled Vintage (LBV) Port
Kopke LBV is a powerful, unfiltered Late Bottled Vintage Port aged 4–6 years in oak before bottling. Bottled at ~20% ABV, it offers concentrated blackberry, plum and cherry fruit wrapped in cocoa, liquorice and warm spice, with a long, elegant finish.
Produced by Kopke, the world’s oldest Port house (est. 1638), this LBV combines tradition, richness and refinement. Ready to drink now - especially after decanting - but capable of developing further in bottle, it is ideal with cheese, chocolate or relaxed after-dinner sipping.
Kopke LBV is a rich, powerful Late Bottled Vintage Port made from a single high-quality harvest and matured in oak for several years before bottling. The result is a wine with the structure and concentration of Vintage Port but with the softness and accessibility delivered by extra cask ageing.
Expect dark berry fruit, plum, fig, cocoa and spice, supported by firm but polished tannins and the natural richness of premium Douro grapes. Kopke’s LBV style is generous, full-bodied and slightly drier than many sweeter, fruitier LBVs — ideal for those who enjoy depth and balance.
Since it is unfiltered, this LBV can be enjoyed now or cellared for additional bottle complexity.
Kopke is the oldest Port house, founded in 1638 by Nicolau Kopkë. With nearly four centuries of tradition, Kopke has built a reputation for precision, craftsmanship and cask ageing mastery — especially known for Colheita and aged tawnies.
Their LBV continues this heritage, using high-quality Douro grapes, slow maturation in the cool coastal cellars of Vila Nova de Gaia, and minimal filtration to preserve depth and ageing potential. Kopke’s long history and traditional techniques deliver a Port of authenticity and power.
