Produced from younger vines and carefully selected parcels across the estate, L’Impression benefits from the same meticulous vineyard management and winemaking philosophy as the grand vin. While designed to be enjoyed earlier, it remains a serious Bordeaux that reflects the quality and precision associated with the Barton portfolio.

The vineyards are planted on the gravel and clay soils that characterise Moulis-en-Médoc. These soils provide excellent drainage while retaining sufficient moisture during warmer growing seasons, helping preserve freshness and balance even in ripe vintages.

The 2022 Bordeaux vintage is already regarded as one of the finest of the modern era. Despite prolonged heat and drought conditions, the best estates produced wines of extraordinary concentration, purity, and freshness. At Mauvesin Barton, the vintage delivered exceptional fruit quality, resulting in a wine with generous ripe fruit, silky tannins, and impressive aromatic intensity.

The blend is typically led by Merlot, supported by Cabernet Sauvignon and small proportions of other traditional Bordeaux varieties. Merlot contributes plush fruit and accessibility, while Cabernet Sauvignon adds structure, freshness, and classic Médoc character.
