2022Founded in 1972, Bodegas LAN has become one of Rioja's most respected wineries, combining traditional winemaking with modern innovation to produce expressive, terroir-driven wines. Every stage of production is centred around preserving the character of the vineyard while achieving exceptional balance and elegance in the finished wine.
LAN D-12 takes its name from the winery's famous Tank D-12, historically reserved for the best wine from each harvest and kept back by the winemaking team for themselves. Today, only the finest Tempranillo grapes from carefully selected old-vine parcels are chosen for this special cuvée, creating a Rioja that offers greater concentration, complexity and finesse than a classic Crianza.
The 2022 vintage spent twelve months ageing in a combination of new American and French oak before further bottle maturation, resulting in a beautifully polished wine with generous fruit, integrated oak and impressive depth while retaining the freshness that defines great Rioja.
A smooth, medium- to full-bodied Rioja that's rich enough to feel special while remaining fresh and easy to enjoy. Expect ripe cherry and plum flavours layered with hints of vanilla, cocoa, cinnamon and gentle toasted oak, all supported by soft, silky tannins.
Unlike heavier, more powerful reds, this wine is elegant rather than overpowering. If you enjoy wines such as Rioja Reserva, Malbec or smooth Cabernet Sauvignon, but want something with a little more spice and refined oak character, LAN D-12 is an excellent choice.
