Producer Background

Founded in 1877 in Haro, R. López de Heredia remains one of Rioja's most distinguished family-owned wineries.

The estate is internationally celebrated for its dedication to traditional methods, including extended oak maturation, manual racking, its own cooperage and prolonged bottle ageing.

Viña Bosconia is one of the producer's historic vineyard-designated wines, renowned for its balance of aromatic refinement, savoury complexity and ageing potential.

Vintage Notes

The 2003 growing season was exceptionally hot across much of Europe, presenting considerable challenges for winemakers.

Despite these conditions, Viña Bosconia Reserva 2003 has earned recognition for its freshness, structure and balance.

Produced predominantly from Tempranillo, complemented by Garnacha, Graciano and Mazuelo, the wine underwent approximately five years of barrel maturation, with traditional manual racking.

The result is a mature Rioja combining developed red-fruit character, earthy complexity and the distinctive refinement of López de Heredia's traditional style.
