Sandeman Late Bottled Vintage (LBV) Port 2019
Sandeman LBV 2019 is a rich, unfiltered Late Bottled Vintage Port made from a single superior Douro harvest and aged 4–6 years in oak vats. Bottled at ~20% ABV, it delivers intense blackberry and plum fruit, cocoa, spice and a smooth, lingering finish.
Crafted by one of the world’s most historic Port houses, it is ready to drink now but can continue to mature in bottle. Perfect with cheese, chocolate desserts or slow after-dinner sipping, Sandeman LBV 2019 offers classic Port depth with elegance and approachability.
Sandeman LBV 2019 is a rich, concentrated Late Bottled Vintage Port showing the impressive structure of the 2019 Douro harvest — ripe black fruit, refined tannins, vibrant colour and solid acidity. LBV is made from a single high-quality vintage, aged 4–6 years in cask, giving it more polish and approachability than young Vintage Port, while still offering depth and age potential.
Sandeman’s house style combines richness and elegance with a touch of chocolatey warmth and spice. The 2019 bottling offers dark berry fruit, plum, violet, cocoa and gentle peppery spice, finishing long and smooth. Thanks to its unfiltered nature, it can be consumed now or held for several more years to gain complexity.
Founded in 1790, Sandeman is one of the most historic Port houses, instantly recognisable by its famous silhouette: “The Don” — a caped figure symbolising mystery, craftsmanship and Iberian wine culture.
Sandeman sources fruit from top Douro vineyards, including the rugged and steep Upper Douro Valley. Their LBV bottlings are made in the traditional way: fermented in lagares, matured in large oak vats, and bottled with the structure to age.
With over 230 years of winemaking heritage, Sandeman remains a global name in fortified wine, known for quality, consistency and classic Port style.
