Vina Bujanda Reserve Rioja 2020
A refined Rioja Reserva with depth, structure, and polished oak integration. Elegant, balanced, and classically styled.
Crafted from 100% Tempranillo grapes, sourced from the Rioja Alta and Rioja Alavesa regions in Spain. The wine undergoes 24 months of aging in American (70%) and French (30%) oak barrels, followed by additional bottle aging, resulting in a complex and elegant profile.
Ripe red cherry and black plum form the core of the profile, layered with subtle notes of raspberry and dried cranberry. Oak aging brings gentle hints of vanilla, toasted spice, cocoa, and cedar, while savoury nuances of tobacco leaf and dried herbs add complexity.
Viña Bujanda Reserva Rioja is a classic expression of Spain’s celebrated Rioja region, crafted in the traditional Reserva style that emphasizes harmony between fruit, structure, and extended aging. The 2020 vintage delivered well-balanced fruit with freshness and concentration, ideal for maturation.
The wine is built primarily around Tempranillo, Rioja’s flagship grape, typically complemented by smaller proportions of Graciano and Mazuelo to add aromatic lift, acidity, and structural backbone. Aging in a combination of French and American oak barrels allows for integration and complexity while preserving varietal character.
Produced by Bodegas Valdemar under the Viña Bujanda label, the estate combines longstanding Rioja tradition with modern precision. With roots dating back to the 19th century, the winery is known for estate-grown fruit and careful barrel selection, ensuring consistency and authenticity across its range.
A dry Rioja Reserva with developed red fruit, cedar, tobacco, and soft spice from extended oak and bottle ageing. The style is elegant and savoury rather than overtly fruity or heavy.

- Duck or Game Birds – The wine’s depth and oak-derived spice complement the richness and slightly gamey flavours.
